Upon booting up windows XP, I get the message "information file not found", it is in program files, and the file is listed but all the pictures it contains, are missing. Can I restore these pictures somehow?

If anyone can help with a solution, it would be greatly appreciated, it contains all our family pictures with no backup available, kind of dumb on my part. Thanks
Try to system restore.

Tried system restore, but it did not help, any other ideas
