every left click or highlight prompts delete function in Vista

Hi all,

I am looking for help on a problem I am having with Vista.

Randomly when I left click the sytem is promting the delete function on the selected item.

It bug is unpredictable and happens and then goes away.

I will just be working left click and the permission dialog to delete pops up.

Left click NO on the permission dialog recalls the delete function and starts a vicions loop that seems to fail after a large number of NO clicks ( like 40 or 50 very quick in a frustrated angry manner )

It also seems to occur when a higlight is made to select a menu item.

Example: Start> Programs > Highlight(selection of "myProgram" from menu)
> prompts the delte function


I found one refrence to this using google where a user name Simon reported the same problem ( Left Click acts as Delte ) at the end of the thread he reports a mouse change seemed to have solved his trouble. I think is OS was XP

I pluged a mouse into my laptop but the same bug occured while using the mouse, so I don't think the mouse is the issue.

Thank you for help or feedback from anyone who has information. I don't know if it is a bug with vista or a virus.

I have used virus scan and it does not report any issues.

Am also facing the exact issue now. Please tell me how did u solve this problem. Got any solutions..? I googled all around internet, but no solutions found ... Hope somebody helps me here ..

To get the idea whether it is an issue with mouse or the system I recommend that you should try with different mouse on the computer.
Also you should try to boot computer into Safe mode.

• Restart the computer.
• Press F8 from the keyboard.
• Now select Safe mode from the Advanced boot menu by using arrow key and press enter.

I tried even with a new mouse. But still this problem exists. Wht can i infer from booting in safe mode. It all seems to be normal. Is this any virus...? My anti virus or malware finder could not find anything suspicious ..

It seems to me that the Delete button is stucked on your keyboard (that is caused when you left click something pops up the Delete button). Try a different keyboard, if your keyboard and/or mouse are wireless try new batteries for both.
