error 80242009 while Windows 8 update

I am running Windows 8 64bit on my computer and there is a security update for office 2013 (KB2810009) that I am trying to install on my pc. When ever I start the update then I get an error code of 80242009 while trying to install this update? Does anyone know a way how to install this security update without getting the error? Thanks

There are some users who are getting this error while installing the KB2810009 update package of Office 2013 in Windows 8. And for this problem, microsoft has released a Office 2013 hotfix package that you can download from this link - http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2768361. Note that there are 2 versions of hotfix packages for 32bit and 64bit operating system, namely "Ace2013-kb2768361-fullfile-x86-glb.exe" and "Ace2013-kb2768361-fullfile-x64-glb.exe" respectively.

If the above solution doesnt work for you then try to run SFC /SCANNOW Command at Boot. To do that open a CMD at boot and then type diskpart and press enter. After that type of the list volume and press enter. Just save the drive letters on a paper for the boot drive that you get and Windows 8 drive and after that type Exit and press enter. Now in the command prompt type the below command and press Enter:
    sfc /scannow /offbootdir=C:\ /offwindir=D:\windows

Let it finish and then boot normally to Windows 8 desktop and try to install the update again.
