Windows Blue will be called Windows 8.1 and it will be much of a free update for Windows 8 and Windows RT.
The Microsoft Windows blog relayed two brief announcements held at a conference of financial organization JP Morgan this morning in the United States.
Tami Reller, Chief Financial Officer of Microsoft, has confirmed that the Windows Blue code name will be called Windows 8.1, as it was revealed in the latest drafts leak.
The ruling also announced that Windows 8.1 would be free for owners of Windows 8 and Windows RT, for whatever edition. I must say that Windows 8.1 would be an update correcting the mistakes of the latest operating system from Microsoft, related to a service pack. Since it does not inaugurate a new branch, it should retain the brand and the Windows 8 logo.
The users can try Windows 8.1 at the end of June, with the publication of a Public Preview likely during the Build conference. At last, the final version is expected in August.
