System requirements for OS X Mountain Lion?

Hi, there just wanted to know what are the system requirements if I want to install OS X Mountain Lion, in my pc? Since this os is new and has not been released I am thinking about checking the developer preview of this OS. So better would be if I get to know the system requirements before installing. So please share some information if you all have some replies. I would be happy to hear it from you.

The newer the mac better it would be the chances of you having the OS X Mountain Lion. here are the list of macs that will support OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion

    - MacBook Pro – 13″ from mid 2009 or later, 15″ from late 2007 and newer, 17″ from late 2007 and newer
    - MacBook Air – late 2008 and newer
    - iMac – models from mid 2007 and newer
    - Mac Mini – early 2009 and newer
    - XServe – early 2009 models and newer
    - Mac Pro – early 2008 models and newer
    - MacBook – 13″ aluminum from 2008, 13″ from 2009 and newer

Now macbooks that are released prior to 2008, macbook with Intel GMA 950 or x3100 or ATI Radeon X1600 integrated graphics card, Mac Mini released before 2007, Original MacBook Air will not support this OS X Mountain Lion.

Here are the system requirements that you must have to install OS X Mountain Lion

    - Processor: 64-Bit Intel Core 2 Duo processor or later
    - Ability to boot into OS X 64-bit kernel
    - Good gpu chipset
    - Internet connection to download the update.

If you are wondering as if how to check if your system has the ability to boot into OS X 64-bit kernel, for that what you have to do is type “uname -a” at the command line, and launch the Terminal. Now it will return you something like this

    Darwin MacBookAir 11.2.0 Darwin Kernel Version 11.2.0: Tue Aug 9 20:54:00 PDT 2011; root:xnu-1699.24.8~1/RELEASE_X86_64 x86_64
Just check for the “x86_64” if it is there then you can confirm that your mac is capable of booting in a 64 bit kernel.
