Microsoft will be launching its latest os “Singularity”. It is still under testing and only available to the research communities! They said it will help researcher to find out how applications interact with operating systems.
Microsoft says it will be more reliable and help in improving programming languages.

There is new version available to the open-source operating system MINIX. There were previous versions available as MINIX 1 and MINIX 2.It is meant to be more reliable and secure. MINIX 1 and MINIX 2 were made for teaching tools. MINIX 3 is made for the application which require high reliability.
This new OS is extremely small and every single process is isolated from each other. If any process/driver is crashed then it is automatically fixed or replaced with proper one without disturbing other process or program that is using it. It also requires small hard-disc space and RAM and power.
