sometimes I just don’t turn off my pc because of continuous office work on it, so I just hibernate my pc but as soon as I hibernate or standby my pc it restarts immediately. Sometimes it remains for 1 hour and then it wakes up! Does anyone know what’s the cause for it and how can overcome it?

go to command prompt and type this powercfg –lastwake . it will be followed by the report suggesting the cause for wake. From there find that source and turn it off.

I had very same problem with my computer. My computer wouldn’t stay asleep while my router was on and I was connected to internet. I did the following:
Go to control panel -> device manager
Click on “ nvidia network controller” -> click on “power management”
Uncheck form allow this device to wake the computer.
This solved my issue .

basically this issue arises due to any one of the devices connected to pc. Usb devices, pendrive or mouse creates such problem. And as mentioned by the above user working router can also make such problems. Anyways, I solved this problem by unplugging a USB device that was in communication with my PC, a game controller .
There are also other settings I discovered while digging for a solution that you could also try:

START/CONTROL PANEL/POWER OPTIONS/ CHANGE PLAN SETTINGS
Then find the CHANGE ADVANCED PLAN SETTINGS link. From there you can expand all of the different settings for all your devices separately.

yeah, I had same problem with my keyboard! Looks like it’s very common problem for most of the users! I did the same setting under keyboard in device manager.

for me , it was internet cable that was causing the trouble. I had to do this to overcome it. Go to control panel then “device manager” and now go to “Network adapter” then open the properties for internet cable which was “Intel(R) -2 Gigabit Network Connection” then i went to “power management” and unchecked the box labeled “Allow this device to wake my computer”.
