    Mint Backup Tool is not working in Linux Mint Debian Edition 32 bit

    I am using the Linux Mint Debian Edition 32 bit and everything was working fine till now but then now I have found that the Mint Backup Tool has stopped working suddenly. I mean that I dint know exactly that when it has stopped working because I have just checked it after a month and so. I have found that when I am clicking on the menu then it is not at all responding I don’t have any idea if it is because of the update and all. Is there anyone who has faced the same and has an idea about it and can help me out as well? Any suggestion regarding the same will be appreciated.

    I think that you can try to launch it from the terminal just run it from there and find out if it is making any difference. Just type “mintbackup” and then check what you are getting. If you are getting any error then make a note of it and then let me know so I can try to help you further with it.

    I tried as you have suggested and this is what I got:
    xyz@linux12 ~ $ mintbackup
    Traceback (most recent call last):
    File "/usr/lib/linuxmint/mintBackup/mintBackup.py", line 87, in <module>
    class MessageDialog(apt.FetchProgress):
    AttributeError: 'module' object has no attribute 'FetchProgress'

    I am not able to make out what is the problem. Just see if you are getting something out of it.

    I think that you can try to reinstall it just try out this “apt-get --reinstall install mintbackup” and if that does not work then let me know what you get and you can also try out this one “sudo apt-get update && upgrade” just check them out and see if it is making any difference.

    I have tried using this “apt-get --reinstall install mintbackup” and I have got the following:

    Re: Mint Backup Tool is not working in Linux Mint Debian Edition 32 bit

    Even I am facing the same problem and I have also tried “apt-get --reinstall install mintbackup” but then it get stuck at the some infinite loop.I have also tried to run a software backup and I have also tried to use this “python -m trace --trace YOURSCRIPT.py” script when we fire up mintbackup but then I am again a output which is some kind of infinite loop. I don’t know what to do know is there any other thing that I can try out?
