AS far as I know that Today, doing a low level format is not something that only experts can do, though, this task must be done with enough care, it will be impossible to retrieve the information stored in these units, after a format of this type.

The physical format allows resetting a hard drive, including MBR. It gives a hard drive is "ex works". Do not mean it fixes physical errors, not the low-level format erases the information about bad sectors. But in most cases these areas are defective. This option is found in some BIOS. Otherwise, if you cannot find your happiness below, visit the website of the manufacturer of your hard drive to download the utility of low-level format matching.

Re: Advantages and disadvantages of Low level format

On many occasions we needed to make a low-level format your hard drive or USB memory, since this process is often the last resort to recover our storage units. The same is to completely destroy the partitions, also eliminating the tracks and sectors of the FAT, FAT32 or NTFS, so it is no longer possible to retrieve the information stored in these storage units. After low-level format, the units are like they just leave the manufacturer.

Well, everyone has gone, our hard drive, USB, have made a number of serious flaws, which have caused, not being able to access them, and often not recognized by Windows these devices, as sectors and clusters have been damaged from track 0, and we cannot do anything.

A low level format is to erase everything on your hard drive and make it as "new" that is, as from the factory!

Yes, I agree with that. By simply deleting files and formatting a hard disk is not completely erased. Just the file tables are updated otherwise discarded along with the partition table. One can then recover the data with a variety of data recovery tool quietly. Better to encompass a low level format, zero fill or to perform a wipe. A Low Level Format and Zero Fill you more often than not do with the diagnostic tool of the HDD maker.

Nearly all homes have HDDs in your web applications that will allow, a low-level format to detect bad sectors and disable, all computers come pre-formatted low level, so it is not recommended that a user done, unless you have serious problems of bad sectors. I recommend that you contact technical support with the manufacturer of your HDD that you can advise if needed for that.

The advantage of the low level when we know (and this has nothing to do with the guarantee ... because if all does not format the drive at all ...) is that the drive is reset to almost 100% ... Then when you format a disk that is rarely to get this data back, finally, in principle....
