Preview and TextEdit stop surprisingly after installing OS X lion

Hi I have just recently installed OS X Lion in my machine but the thing is like I am having problem with Preview and TextEdit as they just stop unpredictably rather randomly and got error as mentioned below:

    Exception Type: EXC_BAD_INSTRUCTION (SIGILL).

Is there anyone having same problem with their Mac OS?

if you are thinking that this bug is related to dropbox and I have resolute that this bug is in no way associated to Dropbox, rather with Mac OSX’s handling of symlinks.

And to fix it, I removed the “~/Downloads symlink” and launched TextEdit and Preview, as they crashed I closed them and deleted the ~/Downloads directory that these programs formed, and then re-created my symlink by running ln -s /Downloads ~/Downloads.

Apple has undoubtedly made important modification with respect to the file system. No one would blame them of latent on their laurels. On that note, I’m convinced this will be addressed in 10.7.1 if not sooner.

    - I am agree with the above user as it seems that some of the symbolic Links are causing this problems with your machine, thus let me tell you as you cannot have any symbolic links or alias in your home directory.

Thus I would like to recommend you that you should try to delete the alias, and then Preview.app and Textedit.app will open again with no fault once you successfully launch the applications, you can then go back a reconstruct the symbolic links.

    - I think if you are still having same problem then you should try to reinstall the same version of OS in your machine again.
