    Backtrack 5 lagging

The first time I played with backing up the virtual Windows XP box. Finally then partitioned my harddisk and had XP with Backtrack. Backtrack was very lazy, but still usable. From there then use Google, this forum (and others) and found no answer to the rear. Most of the lag problems I thought it was a virtual machine or boot from a USB drive. Therefore, I thought I'll just wipe XP and Backtrack used as main OS. (I did this because since I installed in my pc backtrack XP haven’t touched me and I thought this might be the problem) So backtrack is the only operating system on my pc now and still lazy. It is as if everything moves in slow motion, things take a little longer to open, and at first it was feasible, but now going beyond their anger. My laptop configuration: Dell XPS M1530, HD - 250 GB, Ram - 4GB.

First attempt to reduce the area of trade, "2 times the RAM = Swap" no longer applies. Because it was for more computers with 1 GB of RAM maximum, if they had to use some software that uses lots of memory, had to use the exchange area. In Linux, the virtual = RAM + Swap area . core moves data between them as necessary to optimize applications. In this case, if you have a system with 2 or 2.5 GB even use the swap space .I have read that large areas of slow exchange, and I quote:"A refusal to provide much swap space is wandering programs can work for a long time and the use of RAM and swap space. This most likely led to system slowdowns due to extreme exchange, and could lead to the wrong process of being killed.

I agree with the video. But I will say that I'm using 64-bit and smooth, thanks to the disease in a lovely script for the update. But to say that I run on my laptop also has an ATI Radeon, 2 GB of memory and it still works fine. Also in a netbook of 1 GB. I did a swap of 1 GB, so maybe yours is way too much? Need help regarding this issue and I will appreciate your efforts. Post your suggestion here with proper solution.

I up to date all drivers, and searched through some adjustment and establish the trouble. I turned off all desktop effects and right away made a big dissimilarity. It’s still has some lag spikes hardly ever. Is this a common problem with desktop effects and I must I have to report this problem to support people to back so they can fix this problem and will publish its new edition. Thanks again for your help! Friendly community helps.

During the use of unnecessarily swap occurs, in general, should not be a problem on a PC with 2 GB of RAM. Try the "free" command in the terminal. This will show if swap is actually being used:
    Code:
    ~$ free
total used free shared buffers cached
    Mem: 4026904 3988024 38880 0 81680 1585732
    -/+ buffers/cache: 2320612 1706292
    Swap: 3998712 0 3998712
    ~$

    Code:
    eeame@bt:~$ free
total used free shared buffers cached
    Mem: 3612244 663884 2948360 0 81468 238148
    -/+ buffers/cache: 344268 3267976
    Swap: 9936892 0 9936892
    keeame@bt:~$
After installing all drivers finally backtrack is lacking very rarely now.
