Context menu in Windows7 includes removeproperties

I purchased a laptop last month. The OS installed in it is Windows7. I normally use the laptop for gaming, internet surfing, downloading movies and especially for chatting. But yesterday I came across a strange issue while accessing the laptop. The removeproperties option was appearing in my context menu. I don’t have any idea about this option. I am not aware about what this option does. Is anyone aware about such issues? If yes then please do the needful.

After I read your post I came to know about your issue. I will surely help you as much as I can to overcome your problem. But the information that you have provided is incomplete for me. I just wanted to know where precisely did you get that entry/option. Whether you are getting this entry in all the files when you right click or is that a certain entry. Have you installed new programs in your laptop? After I come to know all the information only then I would be able to provide the suggestions to overcome your issue

I am not quite sure about this option/entry it suddenly appeared on everything. I tried a lot to overcome this issue but it was of no use. The issue is annoying me a lot. The issue that you have posted seems to be quite interesting. It is very easy to add and remove entries in the context menu. As you are not having enough technical knowledge this can be reason you are finding this issue more complicated. To remove or to add entry to your context menu you can use Shell menu View which is available for both 32- bit and 64-bit systems. If you are unable to find the entry in Shell menu View then you can remove it with Shell Ex View. Try this out and inform me about the consequences.

The issue that you are facing is due to registry error or unauthorized edit. To remove the “removeproperties” entry from the context menu you need to perform the following steps:
1. Enter gpedit in the start menu search box and then press enter.
2. After you Group Policy Editor, navigate to user configuration-> Administrative templates-> desktop. After that find the entry “removeproperties” from the computer icon context menu.
3. Finally right click on the entry and disable it and click on apply.
4. Reboot your system for the modification to take effect. Try this solution and inform me about the final result.

Previously I had discussed this issue with my colleagues but they could not help me to overcome the issue. You are the first person who supported and helped me. By performing the steps that you mentioned, the entry “removeproperties” has been removed from the context menu. I never faced any issue while performing the modifications.
