question New laptop , Windows 7, Xp dual boot

    hello,

just brought a laptop , it comes with windows 7 pre installed , i like to dual boot windows 7 and xp. my current hard disk status is

    100 mb (system reserved) | windows 7 drive (40 gb)| Drive1 | drive 2 | drive 3 |drive 4

What does this 100 mb space for ? is this the mbr

i have resized windows 7 drive and created two partition, one for windows 7, and other one for xp (i need to reinstall windows 7 too)

    so how should i proceed

Do i need to install boot loader like grub inside that 100 mb space ? or it will work without it ?

    thanks in advanced

Well as per your first question the 100 Mb is the reserved one I mean this part of the memory is for the recovery and I request you to not flirt with the same. As mentioned by you that you are having 40 GB and four drives of 10 gb each. A said that C: is already being consumed by windows 7 so you need to install windows Xp in D: or any other and yes there is no need of reinstalling windows 7.
