Sketchup Integration with Kerkythea installed in Linux using WINE

I'm running Sketchup all the way through WINE, which appears to be functioning ok for the moment. I'm as well using Kerkythea, which has its individual indigenous Linux free. The trouble I'm getting is that while I install the SU2KT script, which permits me to export replicas from Sketchup into Kerkythea intended for representation, the script prompts me to situate the Kerkythea program file. Within Windows this is very well, since I would simply establish the .exe in Program Files. On the other hand since of WINE configures its personal C: drive, it won't allow me find Kerkythea which is outer of it. Kerkythea is here -> /home/USER/.kerkythea2008/Kerkythea. However the dialogue won't depart there. It seems that I should make use of a symlink, except I have no thought how to perform it. I hope that somebody can help about it.

I didn't worry burden that, even though it almost certainly would have worked had I reserved demanding. As a substitute I realized that since the exporter saves the representation like an .xml file previous to annoying to unlock Kerkythea, I don't essentially require locating the program. In its place I simply export like usual and while it asks in favor of the program file, I shut it down. Afterward I release KT and find the .xml file from side to side there, seem to work very well

In my case I have got some problem with the b2kt script. If I start over, I am capable to open these.xml's inside the Kerkythea2008 User interface. If I release the file, afterward do tests render, after that close kerky2008, in that case reopen it another time, at that moment it shows the error message by means of the thread. Therefore it appears somewhat (several threads) aren't killed at shutdown of kerkythea2008, and if you begin the program over again, next load (the equal?) xml's , It shows an error as it wishes to assign memory where it can't. This would furthermore clarify the indiscriminate manners of b2kt, which names the kerky2008 binary outline command line.

Other than using the kerkythea2008 my best option is using TrueSpace. It is rendering program designed for SketchUp that supports Windows OSs. TrueSpace is an enormous explanation intended for 3D modeling, illumination, animation, as well as rendering. TrueSpace 7 initiates the employ of VBScript plus JavaScript like scripting tools for the intention of developing interactive sights along with plugins. TrueSpace can generate animations and visualizations with sensible illumination and natural modeling. Presently TrueSpace supports 2 internal rendering engines that are LightWorks in addition to VirtuaLight.

I don’t think that the TrueSpace is well for Sketchup. However my best program is Blender. Merely, Blender is an all-in-one 3D modeling in addition to animation tool that can be utilized like rendering program or maybe as plugin for SketchUp. You can create PC generated pictures and movies by the use of this open source freeware software. It supports majority of the OSs counting Windows, Mac OS, and Linux, along with Solaris. This is extremely effortless to study, thus it is excellent software for fresh users too.

Re: Sketchup Integration with Kerkythea installed in Linux using WINE

It seems to me that the Sketchup plugin or software called kerkythea2008 is not well suited to work in Linux even with the WINE configuration. However if you really want to use the Sketchup with Linux installed using WiNE then you have to get a compatible software that can be efficiently used with Linux distributions. Some scripts either it may be a java script or maybe vbscript cannot be fully recognized by the Linux OS. It could be drawback for the software.
