    Bootcfg /rebuild is not working

Well recently I have installed new hard disk on the computer of mine. I have installed Acronis on it and restore the preexisting back on it. After doing the same the computer of mine did not seems to boot at all. It is prompting with error message which can be stated as follow. ‘missing or corrupt <windows root>\system32\hal.dll’ I have tried with the bootcfg/ rebuild but it did not help me out. Let me know if you are having any issue to fix the problem. Thanks a lot in advance.

I am unable to figure out why this particular error is being occurring on the computer of yours. first of all let me know which operating system do you have installed on the computer of yours? can you provide me the log file of the error message which is being occurring on the computer. do you have updated the all the necessary graphic card drivers on the computer? answer the above mentioned thing as early as possible.

Well I think I am having a particular solution which you can apply to fix the problem of yours. but I am not sure whether it will help you to fix the problem of yours. well you should make an attempt to boot the old hard disk. In case the old hard disk is seems to boot then you should try to use Acronis Bootable Media and simply go for the Clone Option. You should try the above mentioned thing and let me know whether it is working or not.

Thanks a lot for the useful information which you have provided over here. Well I have used the Clone option and it really worked for me. But sometimes I am getting an issue like the data execution protection message pop up on the screen. Also I have noticed that the working of the Internet Explorer is seems to be really funny. But over all I am satisfied with the suggestion which you have mentioned over here on the post of yours.

In this particular situation I think you need to do repair the operating system which you have installed on the computer. in case the repairing the windows does not working then you should go for the clean installation of the windows on the computer of yours. after clean installation you will lost all the data which has been saved on the C drive of the computer. I am hoping that the clean installing of windows will help you to fix the problem of yours.
