How do I prevent my laptop from bringing up the log in screen after it sleeps?

I have an older dell with windows xp. I leave the computer, but when I come back it has logged me off. So I have to re log in and it's just annoying.

How do I prevent it from logging me off and sleeping??

    Thanks for any advice

Here are the steps by which you can prevent the logon password after sleep mode. For that first click on start and then click on run. In the box type powercfg.cpl and click on advance tab. In that uncheck the box Prompt for password when computer resumes from standby. Then restart your computer one and recheck back again.
