    Cannot upgrade kernel in linux

Here is the Linux Mint running on my system and I just wanted to know if there is a way by which I can only update the Linux kernel. I tried to do that but was not able to upgrade that. I hear it's always better to have the core and essential parts of the updated operating system. So I just gave this a thought and was thinking of doing things here. Will I have to take care of something very important to not end up playing with things? I do not want to stick me with all the extra issues here. Please let me know a way by which I will be able to get things done in a very nice. Please also come with easy solutions so you can follow the steps more easily there.

Yes, let me inform you that you will be equipped to have the graphical environment improved with the updated kernel. Well I think this is one of the benefits you can go here. I saw that an update is available for LINUX and let me tell you that the file size is very small. In the first you will see some of the issues but then offers lower latency in a graphical environment. But make certain that subsequent to the upgrade, you may see a few improvements in graphics, except you might see a few complexities by means of the text-mode Linux. In that case, they always have to see if a patch is available or not. See, for the same and if there are problems with the functioning below to make sure you can go with things here.

Here is the resolution that will absolutely like to go. If all you are having your LINUX registered, you can use the up2date command. Here is the command you are prompted to type: # up2date-f kernel If you are telling regarding SMP kernel, so you have to make use of this command: # up2date-f kernel-smp. This was the problem if you have the edition for Linux Read Hat. If you are having this way a Linux Fedora or CentOS and Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5, then you can use the yum command and in the following way: # yum update kernel. If you have already downloaded the RPM file then you can use the kernel * # rpm-ivh to move forward with upgrades.

Let me know that what the present version is for the LINUX Distro which you contain for your computer. Let me see that and I will inform you if you will be equipped to include the installation for the Kernel. For this to occur you will be needed to open Terminal Window and after that you will have to observe for the chief Application menu. You will be equipped to perceive this choice under the System Tools otherwise Utilities. After performing this you will observe a command prompt on the bottom. Within the command prompt enter this command: uname –r. This will allow you know the edition of kernel. Please let me know the same thing here. We hope to see the result in the next post of yours. Be very fast with this there.

Re: Cannot upgrade kernel in linux

The fresh kernel versions are disseminated like patches. Therefore if you have version 1.1.1945 for Linux kernel and is then called as patch46.gz patch, then all you have to do is implement this review, so you can upgrade to version 1.1.1946 . If you see that things went smoothly, but if you still want to take a look at it, then you can see to / usr / src / linux and see for files ending in. The situation is that a few of the earlier versions for the patch uses #. Open KPackageKit as well as after searching for the linux-headers there. currently you have to make you involved in the case here, so you can locate the best core. After finding the best match I can hit APPLY. Close KPackageKit and then see if it works superbly in his case.

Re: Cannot upgrade kernel in linux

I am of the opinion that you have to go to the next site here: http://kernel.ubuntu.com/ ~ kernel-ppa/mainline / will not see a whole directory tree of grain there. You have to do a search for the kernel, so you can have things in there. In each directory you will see BUILD.LOG, CHANGES and besides this is also going to see some of the items that start with linux-headers, linux-image and the source of Linux. From the above, you are required to see linux-headers and linux-image. Now download the file linux-headers all.deb and ending with the heads of Linux-i386.deb file ending. If the linux-image that will have to see why you're ending with i386.deb. That's it. Please make sure that the discharge in this way only. Finally reboot and then you have to update the kernel.
