    Windows cannot find C:\DOCUME~1\Owner\LOCALS~1\Temp\dwm.exe

I am running a Windows XP SP3 on my machine. Getting these two error messages at startup. Click on the first, then get a second. Click through a second launch windows still loads, and the system is functional. I've been doing some research, it seems quite common to have problems dwm.exe, so not sure how concerned i should be. I guess this is caused by some kind some of the virus / worm / trojan. Ran virus scan: Panda Antivirus Pro 2010 3 infections found but the issue remains unsolved. The next step?

No one and not all AV tools know about everything you need to use more of an exploration program in AV arsenal. In perfect world, there should be exectutables implementation of the documents and Settings folder. It sounds and despite its Panda AV, the system remains in some way affected. Sometimes even the "best" AV tools are not able to clean up the mess of some diseases or can not tell if what he discovers is an actual infection or something you did on purpose to be left alone, and then do a little cleaning cleaning done by hand. Autoruns is the right idea, but first make sure that they have not lost anything from Panda, then use Autoruns if you still have the problem. Download, install, update and do a full scan with these programs free malware detection program.

Autoruns will help you clean up the debris, but be as safe as can be that there is an infection the first participant. A "can not find ..."," can not start ..." Unable to load ..."." No running ... "Can not execute" "Error loading ..." or "specific module not found" message in the beginning is often associated with malware that is created to run on startup but the reference file (s) has been eliminated after a malware scan, leaving behind an entry registry or startup item that points to a nonexistent file.

It could be a malware removal or uninstall an application. The input can be named curious aspect, as it probably generated randomly when the malware is installed. If you search your reference file system, you might not even find it. Windows is trying to load this file but can not find it from the file was mostly likely removed during an analysis of malicious software. However, a parameter associated with starting or orphaned registry entry remains and is telling Windows to load the file when you boot or login.

You need to remove the reference input for Windows to stop trying to load or execute the file. May or may not be on the record but you can find. Autoruns (see below) is the issue, no matter where it is. If you just locate and disable the item in msconfig, disabling the item, but does not eliminate the reference to the element of false start your computer. The msconfig program is a boot loader is a troubleshooting tool. Disabling things in the msconfig to stop the messages and thought the problem is resolved is shortsighted and leaves behind a neglected XP settings. Just disable the display of a startup error message not counted as a "solution" to the problem. If you are familiar with editing the registry can find and delete the reference directly from there or remove. Using popular third party tool called Autoruns. The problem can not always be found in the registry though. Before making any changes to your registry by hand or third-party tools, make sure to back up the first record. You can not undo or exit without saving option in regedit.

Use Autoruns to find the start element to spare, no matter where he hides. Autoruns not install anything on your computer. It displays all the startup locations where the reference may be what can be disabled or removed completely. Autoruns.exe launch and wait for it to complete the list of entries. When AutoRuns is finished scanning your system, will say "ready" in the lower left corner. Autoruns can be a little intimidating at first, if you have never seen before, as it shows a lot of information. You're really only interested in a couple of sections. The order of the problem is usually at system startup or home user input so click the Logon tab and see if the startup item is there. Scroll through the list and look for a startup entry related to the file (s) in the error message. If you do not find it in the Logon tab, look in the All tab. Click on the entry of crime and decides to delete. If you are unsure of what can only disable it, reboot and if the problem is solved, and then delete the offending entry. If you do not see it in Autoruns may have to edit the registry and remove the item from the Startup folder there. Autoruns would display the same information, however.
