Unable to install updates KB982526 in Windows 7 Error Code: 80073701

I recently purchased a new Dell computer and have installed Windows 7 on it. I am trying to install all the latest Windows Update in this operating system but there are 2 updates called KB982526 & KB982526 which are not getting installed. If I am trying to install those again then I end with an error code: 80073701. Any ideas how to install this updates without the error message? Thanks

Can you try to reset the Windows Update components and check if you are able to install those 2 updates or not. Just follow the link given below to reset the Window update components in your pc. There are almost 12 steps involved if you want to manually follow the instructions or if you want to let it automatically fix the issue then click on the FixIT link given in the same url below:

Can you try to run the System File Checker tool to repair missing or corrupted system files in your pc. To do this, click Start, type Command Prompt or cmd in the Search box, right-click Command Prompt, and then click Run as administrator. If you are prompted for an administrator password or for a confirmation, type the password, or click Allow. At the command prompt, type the following command, and then press ENTER:
    sfc /scannow

I was also facing the same issue but later on I finally realized why those updates were not installing in my system. I was using the 32bit version of Windows 7 operating system in my computer. And the 64bit Service Pack 1 version will not install on this 32bit version. So later on I downloaded and installed the 32bit version of SP1 and then it installed just fine in the computer. Hope this helps you out.
