Search according to File Size, Date & Contents at a time on Windows 7

I have noticed the search feature bit rigid on windows 7 operating system as I have recently upgraded my machine from the windows xp to windows 7. It was very much easy in Windows Vista to search in an entire computer for a file which has a size larger then 1 Mb and modified after a particular date. Can somebody give me the proper procedure by which I can do this on Windows 7?

Even if you are a very organized person, and even if you are using the library of Windows 7 to organize and collect your data around several virtual locations, you inevitably come times when you cannot find the file or folder you are looking for...Luckily for you, Windows 7 has a very powerful integrated search tools that can help you find what you're looking for! Nothing could be easier than running a simple search or basic:
    1. In Windows File Explorer, notice the search box present in the top right of the explorer,
    2. Type the filename you want, and you will notice that as and when you type the letters of the file to seek proposals for files on the hard drive of your computer arise,
    3. Choose the file you are looking for and voila!

The search function of Windows 7 is directly accessible from the Start menu on the taskbar and in the top right of any window in Windows Explorer. Unfortunately sometimes it happens that despite the use of the search function can not find the file you're looking .. Notice in this case the feature that presents itself to you in the previous window offering you to "Search again in:" This feature allows you to expand the search field to the entire hard drive .. on external media type CD or external hard drive , etc. ..

If the result does not appear in the search for the most likely cause is that the file is not in the index. Windows default is configured to index only the user folder. To fix this you press the windows key and you entered "options", you'll "indexing options in the list". Then you click on the Edit button and you add the drives / folders to index. It remains to wait for the indexing process is completed. The search in Windows 7 may be as simple as typing a few letters into the search box but there are also advanced search techniques that you can use. You do not need to know these techniques to search your files, but they can be useful depending on where your research and what you are looking for.

The search filters are a new feature in Windows 7. They facilitate the search for files based on their properties (including by author or by file size). To add a search filter your search :

    • Open the folder, the library or the drive you wish to search.
    • Click the search box, then click on a search filter (eg Capture Date: Images in the library).
    • Click one of the following options: (For example, if you clicked on Capture Date: select a date or date range).

When you add a search filter, you notice that the special keywords are automatically added to the search box. These keywords can help you narrow your search by limiting the possibilities. You can add multiple search filters to search or even mix filters with conventional search terms and then refine your search. Depending on the location of your search, only some search filters are available. For example, if you look in the Documents library, you'll search filters different from those used in the library images. You won't be able to state the search filters that you observe but you would be able to vary the file type whose library is optimized. This action will alter the search filters accessible when searching in the library.

Windows looks after you in the search box text entered normally in the file name, file contents and file properties of all files in the current view. If you type such as "summer", the result includes files with the name "Sunrise in Sommer.jpg", a file marked "summer" and files that were created by a user named "Summer". With such a broad search, you can find a file quickly. If you wish for more fine search, though, you would be able to filter your search in the search box, by mentioning which file property to be searched. After a file property, you can filter by typing the name of the property and the search term separated by a colon.
