    Windows 7 64 bit and Quicken 2000

I have been functioning Quicken deluxe 2000 for lots of years up till now on Microsoft Windows XP with whole functionality. I am happy with this old software and do not wish to modify it. I currently have a novel machine running Windows 7 64 bit and it will not recognize installation of the program from the CD. On the other hand I have currently got Quicken working on the novel machine by duplicating the whole details of the QuickenW directory of my windows XP and inserting IPROF32.dll and Q_encutl.dll that is in the “windows/system” list. The just few troubles I currently have are: The homepage does not emerge automatically, and I do not obtain any Quicken sounds despite turning ON every quicken sounds in the general options box. It does not hang "turned on ". All the sounds are there in the sounds directory. Or else I have all the functionality I require. Anyone have any suggestions for this?

I would recommend you to run Quicken 2000 in compatibility mode and verify. The majority programs written for Windows Vista as well work in this version of Windows, but a few older programs might run badly or not at all. If a program written for a previous version of Windows does not run properly, you can attempt altering the compatibility settings for the application, either yourself or by utilizing the Program Compatibility troubleshooter.

I had the similar trouble as you with Quicken 2000 and Microsoft Windows 7 64 bits. I attempted to setup with the file QW2000:\install.exe or QW2000:\AUTORUN.exe, but it does not enclose to effort. But I was able to setup Quicken 2000 properly by utilizing the file in the CD: W2000:\quicken\setup.exe. Quicken therefore effort with no trouble on Microsoft Windows7 64 bits.

I have Home Premium 64 bit. The program will not setup from the CD. I did the similar as you. Unlock the Quicken 2000 CD and seem for a file which says Setup and Application. Simply click on it and the program will load. I verified Properties on the desktop image so it was well-matched for windows XP SP3. I had saved my Quicken to Backup on my exterior Hard disk and have just accessed it and prepared an extra transaction. Fingers crossed it is going to continue on functioning.
