If your BootCamp is truly version 3, I did a system restore since I had just updated these drivers. But if you did it while you acquired Snow Leopard you will have to uninstall BootCamp from Programs. If you memorize, while you primary loaded Microsoft Windows Vista you did not load BootCamp until later than the installation was accomplished. So, remove 3.0, boot again, after that attempt the install once more. Let me know how it went.

This error code points toward that Access is Denied. I for myself have seen this error while the DVD drive has complexities reading the disk. There are a couple of workarounds.
    1. You can duplicate the contents of the DVD to a folder on the root of your C disk drive and run Setup.exe from there onwards.
    2. If you have a huge sufficient USB flash drive, you can utilize the novel Windows 7 USB / DVD Download Tool from Microsoft and by means of the tool generate a USB drive with Windows 7 setup on it, and you can run setup from the USB drive.

I have attempted the fix It Tool but receive the error: The Windows Installer Service could not be accessed. This can take place if the Windows Installer is not properly installed. Contact your support personnel for help. I after that attempted to run the fix myself from an administrator. Command prompt that is: secedit /configure /cfg %windir%\inf\defltbase.inf /db defltbase.sdb /verbose but received one more error: A comprehensive error has occurred; which as well referred me to a log file at windows/ security/ logs. It is too large to reproduce but here is the top level summary which I expect assists reveal what might be happening.

Let’s start again into a clean boot to immobilize any programs which might be interfering with the install.
    1. Click on the Start
    2. Search for msconfig
    3. Click Continue on the User Account Control
    4. Click on the Services tab
    5. make sure the Hide all Microsoft services box
    6. Click Disable all
    7. Click OK
    8. Click on Restart Now
Once restart has completed try to install another time.
