Re: Windows 7 security center & update keeps disabling

I did as you told: no success

What I did in SAFEty MODE:

scan with spybot: it keeps finding: securty center service disabled. (repair) but when i reboot it's back.

    in gpedit.msc => I disabled windows defender

in services: in account text box: NT AUTHORITY\LocalService (passwords: blank)

I can open microsoft security essentials (MSE): i can update and do a scan but i can't activate it so red marker remains' => error 0x800705b4

when i try to activate security essentials in services i get error 1084. (not possible in safety mode.

In normal mode i can't even open MSE...

the flag and red cross remain...

    Hi Amberres,

If you have any of these AVG, McAfee, Norton, Microsoft Security Essentials, etc installed, they will either have a conflict with Windows Defender, or disable it. Microsoft Security Essentials has its own built-in version of Defender and should automatically disables Vista's version of Windows defender. If it doesn't then follow the suggestions given below in the link:

Error 0x800705b4 with Microsoft Security Essentials

Turn Windows Defender on or off information at the above Microsoft link. Hope the above explains common compatibility problems with Windows Defender and other Security Programs.

Well tnx for the reply, I am however a bit confused.

Are you telling me I should uninstall microsoft security essentials?
Because it has always worked and I want it to work again..

And then download the spyware remover, the driver updater and the Fix? (from your link)

Also do I need to do all of this in safety mode or not?
And do I need to remove Spybot aswell before I begin?

    thank you for your time.

Are you using any other security software in your system apart from having the Microsoft Security Essential. If so then you will have to uninstall it in order to get the Microsoft Security Essential to work properly without the error code that you are getting. For more informations, read suggestions given in this thread - Error 0x800705b4 with Microsoft Security Essentials

No, I'm not using any other security software, only MSE
Although I was adviced to install spybot to find the malware/virus that is causing my problems in the first place. Does that count as security software?

Yes, it does, you should try and uninstall spybot and check whether your problem is solved or not. You can completely get rid of Spybot-S&D from the Add/Remove control panel or else you can delete the installation folder (usually C:\Program Files\Spybot - Search & Destroy\). After following these instructions please restart your system so that the changes can take place.

I removed spybot and MSE. I still can't enable my microsoft security service.

    still get the 1079 errorcode

Now Im trying to install Spyware Doctor and it says it's conflicting my other installed security software, namely 'MSE' and that I need to remove it first.

    here's where I'm confused; I removed MSE already...(not in add/remove software list)

There might be some problem because of the virus in your computer. So, you need to check for that first. To do that, first disconnect your computer from the Internet and also from any other networked computers and then scan the system. Now scan your computer but make sure that you have updated the virus definition for the antivirus that you are using.

    Oh my god

I installed spyware doctor (ignored the warning about: MS security essentials being installed) updated and rebooted in safety mode.

I did a full scan in safety mode and found 308 conflicts

25 of them are high risk trojans all situated in this folder

    c:\users\michael\appdata\locallow\Sun\java\displayed\cache\6.0\......

I cant delete these conflicts cause i'm not registered and paying

can I remove these conflicts manually? I located the folder so..

Or does everybody suggest me to do a clean sweep, which I want to avoid...

I am not sure that you will able to remove this program manually. But you can give a try to same. Just try to remove the program manually. If you need to secure your system then you have to run with the genuine copy of the security program that will resolve the issue related to the virus on your system. So buy a genuine copy of Anti Spyware.
