Automatic profile removal in Windows 7

Hello friends, I had just upgraded my Sony desktops from Windows XP to Windows 7. With the help of the XP, we used del.exe as set up in the Scheduler to automatically erase or remove the user profiles after a certain number of days. That no longer seems to work with Windows 7 operating system. Is there any other option under Windows 7 to automatically delete profiles based on the number of days? Under XP, our del.exe file contained the following: “C:\Program Files\Windows Resource Kits\Tools\delprof.exe” /q /i /d:07
I think that now in Windows 7 this script won’t be work because of the advanced security in windows 7 as compared to XP. There might be some solution for it! Please help me to perform automatic deletion of profile.

There is a group policy named as the ‘Delete user profiles older than a specified number of days on system restart’ in Windows 7 can recognize this. If you are using Windows 7 Professional, Ultimate or Enterprise, just have a look over the issue that can be resolved by changing the Group Policy:
    1. Go to Start menu, from the start menu go at the search box in that type group policy and then press ENTER to continue.
    2. Enlarge the following policy:
Computer Configuration / Administrative Templates / System / User Profiles / Delete user profiles older than a specified number of days on system restart
    3. Select Enable and then select the day you would like to delete or remove the profile.
    4. Click Apply to change the settings and then lastly click OK.
Hope this will surely help you out.

On to the Windows 7 operating system if you want to automatically eradicate or erase the user profiles then you may configure the related policy. At the starting go to the Start menu, after that type “group policy” into the Start Search box and after processing it press the ENTER key. Secondly expand the next policy: Computer Configuration/Administrative Templates/System/User Profiles/Delete user profiles older than a particular number of days on system reboot. Thirdly select Enable and then select the day you would like to delete the profile and lastly click Apply to do changes to the settings and then click OK.

Try to perform these steps in order to remove the profile from Windows 7 in particular number of days: initially click on to the Start menu from the desktop, from that go on to the search box in that GPEDIT.MSC and then press enter. After that expand computer configuration/administrative templates/ system, now click on to the user profile option, in that double click on to the Delete user profiles older than a specified number of days on system restart, click o to the enabled, now you may specify the number of days and then click on to the OK.

Press the Start button from the task bar, after that go on to the Run option and then tyoe Regedit on the run window. -2-. After that navigate onto the following registry key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\ProfileList”. -3-. From the profile list go to the binary key like this: S-1-5-21-3656904587-1668747452-4095529-500. -4-. Now on the very right side under profileimagepath we can see the username and the profile path. -5-. Select the one of them with the desired user and delete the long reg key like: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\ProfileList” OR
We can also do it with the user profile dialog under the system properties: right click on to my computer and select the properties. In that click to the tab advanced system settings which is on left side, go on to the Settings for User Profiles which is seen in the middle of the opened windows, from that Select the profile you want to delete and click the delete button.
