Lenovo ThinkPad T400: not able to start the machine

I am having a brand new Lenovo ThinkPad T400, which is running with the environment of windows vista. Last night while I was updating the windows version, the Lenovo logo is appeared in the screen along with the thinkvantage button, which is for enter into the BIOS setting. While I clicked on that button, nothing happens over there. I am not able to start the machine; there is problem in the startup. I searched everywhere for the solution, but found nothing in anywhere. then one of my friend suggest me remove the AC adaptor and the battery, I did this and wait for some while, and after reinsert all of then the same problem happens in the machine. What shout I do now, how to start the machine? Is there anyone having any suggestion regarding this issue, provide me?

I read the complete post and I think this type of problem sometimes occur for the hardware, so check properly that the hardware’s are working fine in the machine. As per my knowledge this is could be for the hard disk drive of your machine. I recommend to do one thing, remove the hard disk from the machine and wail for some time, then reinsert that one into the machine again, hope this will fix the issue, sometimes by the hard disk misplace or by the damaging the hard disk this type of problem might be occurs. So if the problem with misplacing the hard disk then by this, I hope it will be recover. Remember that the hard disk is very sensitive and while you are replacing that one, does this be carefully. And before that do one after remove the hard disk start the machine and wait till the machine is prompt any popup windows into the screen, after appears that window press ctrl+alt+Delete key from the keyboard to restart the machine. If this one restarts properly then be sure that there is no problem with the hardware.

Re: Lenovo ThinkPad T400: not able to start the machine

I think this is a horrible problem with the windows version. I had the similar experience with this type of problem. After that I did a procedure for the solution and it works. In the windows vista and in the windows 7 , there is a startup repair or the recovery option is present. I suggest you to repair the windows version from that option, for that you have to restart start the machine and pressing f8 to proceed to the startup window of the machine. This is solution for other problem like any issue after change the hardware or unexpected shutdown, or any other issue, click on the startup repair option on that windows, the windows are loading file option bar will appear in the screen, it is the confirmation that the process is starts. After loading all the windows file it will open the system recovery window, where you have to select the language of the keyboard input method. To begin the process you need to log on the machine by the administrator user ID and password. Select the startup repair option from the window, it will auto detect the problem, which is occurred in your machine. After detecting the problem it will ask you for prompting with the restore option click on restore, after the complete restore of the machine the system will reboot automatically, after that I hope your problem will resolved.

I think this one definitely help you to overcome from the problem that you mentioned in your post. Go the control panel by click on the start menu option and then go to all programs. There you will found the control panel, proceed to the program and feature tab option under that window and then go to task, looked for the updated installed update lover that window. Look for the option like update and remove. Select the program and remove that one.

Re: Lenovo ThinkPad T400: not able to start the machine

I am having the similar issue with my vista compatible HP Pavilion laptop; the problem is exactly same, not able to start the machine with the normal mode. This problem occurs after the installing the NOD 32 antivirus software. After the installation the machine is required for the reboot, I did this and from that time the machine is not getting startup. But I once start the machine in the safe mode, and after that I am also not start the machine in safe mode. Is it for the vista problem? What should I do to resolve this problem, any suggestion on this issue?
