Hello,
My company has decent infrastructure with SBS 2003 Server and around 30 clients. Now, i got task to migrate to SBS 2008, which i'm planning to do, but here is tricky part:
New SBS 2008 is Remote Dedicated Server with only one interface(PUBLIC ONE), given by hosting provider. If it's local at our office, procedure is know to me. In this case, i got several questions.
1. In documentation for SBS 2008, clearly stands that server should have only 1, but PRIVATE interface. Is this necesarry?
2. Know that firstly should initiate VPN connection from SBS 2008 to SBS 2003(Join to Existing Domain), as a start of Migration. My old SBS is with private range, but my new SBS is in public range. Any issue to expect?
3. After migration, old SBS 2003 will be demoted. Since this new SBS 2008 is at remote side, i'll setup VPN connections from clients to remote server, in order to authenticate(startup scripts), but how to distribute private IP address to clients?
Regards,
Shawn
