If we talk about the installation process of both of them then I can say that the Windows has very installation process. Here users anticipated not to run some new operating system other than Microsoft's. This is not a good thing. Ubuntu also have the smooth installation process but some users may find that it is difficult to understand the file system of it. Overall, I can say that for beginners in the computer, Windows will be the based and if you have better understanding of the computers then Linux will be good for you.

Ubuntu offers Ease of customization and it is better than the Windows. It allows us to do the things like “always on top”, changing workspace, etc. If we consider about the software availability then Windows wins the race here. You will find a lot of software on internet for windows. For Ubuntu they have software center in ubuntu which makes it easier but Windows is leading in this case.

There is no doubt that Ubuntu is leading in many features as compared to Windows. One of the features that I would like to tell is networking. It is very easy to do in Ubuntu but if we see the same thing then we will find it very excruciating. If you are using the Ubuntu then you will find that the network printer get installed automatically when it is connected to computer. Samba makes the life so easier.

When matters come up to the design software like photoshop then Ubuntu is far behind than the Windows. This provides the best support for the software. If you like to play the games on your computer then I would like to tell that the here also Windows wins the race. It supports almost all the games for computers but this is not the case for the Ubuntu. So if you just want to do the official work then Ubuntu will be the best option for you.

In case of the security, Linux is very good. There are more chances that your Windows will be affected by the virus attack and that may leads to loss of data or system crash but Linux safer from the virus. Since it is a text based operating system so viruses can not affect the Linux operating system. So if you security is more important for you than entertainment then you can go for the Linux operating system.
