Driver Cleaner removing registry for Crossbar filters

I was using the Driver Cleaner on my computer and I found that it is removing the CLSID registry which is used for Crossbar filters for capture devices. I tried to use the Driver cleaner two times and both the times it happens. I was clearing the Nvidia drivers and ATI drivers.

When it deleted the registry then the tuner devices are not able to start and I am unable to add the Crossbar filters with GraphEdit/GraphStudio. I am using the Windows Vista Ultimate SP2 64bit. Can you tell me that how can I resolve this issue?

I don’t think that this is a bug because if you see the help file then you will find that there is a Warning which says that you should not use the ATI WDM or nVidia WDM cleaning filters if there is a TV tuner card installed in your computer. For the time I just can suggest you to not install the WDM filters if your system has the tuner installed.

Have you tried to reinstall the Hauppauge HD-PVR drivers. Reinstalling this may solve the problem for you. First of all uninstall the driver for it that is installed in your computer completely and then install that again. In many of the cases like this, I have seen that reinstalling the driver for this solves the problem and I hope that it will do the same for you also. Thank you.

You can also try to add the registry again manually and that may make the filters to work again. But remember that it is very risky and can create more issue if you did this improperly.

Go to start and select RUN from there. This will open a small window that has a text box. There you have to type “regedit” but it should be without quotes. Press Enter button and this will open a new window of Registry Editor. From the left panel you can select the registry that you want to modify or delete. You can also create new registry from file menu. But again I am telling you that it is risky because if you delete any wrong registry then this may also crash your system.

You may not be using the drive cleaner properly and that is why you are facing the problems like that. I am providing the steps below for use of that so that it will be helpful to you and other users who are searching for the similar solutions.
    • If you are using the DriveCleaner for the first time then this will ask you to enter the details for the registration. You must be given these details when you purchase that via email.
    • It is strongly recommended that you should check for the latest update. This will make you sure that you are using the latest driver for you.
    • After completing the driver process, you will have to select the driver that you want to clean. You can also select multiple drivers on the same time.
    • Click the start button and this will begin the cleaning process. This will also prompt you for the confirmation before beginning the process. Click on Yes button to confirm that. After that you just have to follow the onscreen instructions.
    • It will take around 1 to 2 minutes to complete the process. This depends on the complexity of the driver that is to be cleaned. After the completion of the cleaning process you will be shown the details. Restart your computer after that process.

You will also found another utility in the DriveCleaner which is the bonus utility. This utility is called as driver version check. This utility is specially designed for the ATI and NVIDIA graphics cards. To check that you just have to run the program and select the type of graphics card for which you want to check the Operating system version type. This will show you the latest version for that which is available and you can download and install that to your computer.
