The latest security updates for Windows Server 2003 worked fine on most of the servers in our system. However, we have a standalone Web Server running IIS 6.0 that is hosting 10 different sites that all share a couple critical services.
After installing the latest updates (set of 12 - KB2360131, 2416451, 2418241, 2279986, 2296011, 2360937, 2378111, 2387149, 979687, 981957, 982132, and 2345886), the services would no longer work. I suspect a security problem with the system users that the services operate under, but I cannot find a specific issue with any of the updates regarding user access changes. The services in question are all using either just a local service account or the NT AUTHORITY\LocalService user.
After uninstalling the updates, the services are working again, so I know it has something to with the updates. Has anyone else experienced anything similar? How do I install the updates and keep the services running?
