The HTPC is nothing but the home theatre personal computer and it is also known as the media center. The thing here is that this application allows viewing the videos photos and movies on any home theater. An HTPC allows the integration of many devices into one, it unites all the parts of the home theater components and then locate it as the single unit. I have seen it is being used with the windows operating system but have no idea about Linux.

Here are the steps that will help you to set up the HTPC for your system:
    • First of all you have to know your system, and also you have to Know your own requirements
    • Then you have to Research and purchase hardware that will fit in to your system. The thing here is that you have to make sure whether the hardware will be perfectly installed on your system and also it must be compatible for the same.
    • After that you have to assemble them in such a way that the home theater and the system gets integrate with each other.
    • Then you have to configure the BIOS of your own system and make possible changes over there.
    • Then download the free distribution of Linux and install the same.
    • Then you have to make sure whether the TV tuner card is functioning properly or not
    • At last configure all this thing and then use for its best.

To solve this problem you have to just try and follow the below steps:
    • First of all you have to Download a LiveCD ISO image from a mirror site listed on ubuntu.org.
    • Then you have to Burn the same on the disk
    • Now you have to boot the same disk that you have created
    • Then you can Boot the new HTPC to the installer CD.
    • Then just select in the Start or install Ubuntu option
    • So the installation will start automatically.
    • Once the installation is completed then you have to just double click on the "Install" icon which is on the desktop.
    • It will setup your HTPC on your system.
