How to get pound sign from keyboard

Hello everyone, I am using my computer system from last 4 years and since then I have gained adequate knowledge about the computer system. Recently, I heard from some one that we can even get a pound sign from the keyboard although there is not a direct key for getting a pound sign. So can any one tell me how can we get a pound sigh from the keyboard. Eagerly waiting for the answer. Thanks.

HI you can get a pound sign from the key board using a combination of keys. For getting a pound sign ie "£" displayed on your desktop you should press down and release the Num Lock key located in the upper left part of the number pad on the right side of your keyboard so that the LED above is lit and release that key. Then hold down the Alt key and type 1+5+6 using that number pad only. After you release the Alt key you will get a pound sign on you screen.

Yes you can display symbols or characters not easily accessible on your keyboard with the help of ALT key on any Windows PC.
For displaying pound sign '£' you have to.
1 Press the Num Lock key such that the light is on.
2 Press Alt key and along with it press three more keys ie 1+5+6.
3 After you release the Alt key the pound sign will be displayed on the screen.

You can also get many other symbols which are not directly available on the keyboard by.

For Euro symbol (€) :- Type Alt 0128
For Cent symbol (¢) :- Type Alt 155
For Yen symbol (¥) :- Type Alt 157

There You need to change the language in "Regional and Language" options in the control panel to "English United Kingdom".
You can also get a pound sign '£' form the keyboard by changing the language in "Regional and Language" options in the control panel to "English United Kingdom". Now you can get the symbol directly.

If you are using a laptop and you want to get a pound sign from your keyboard then you have to do a extra step as compared to normal keyboard. In laptop number pad is usually located on the main keyboard in blue numbers and accessed via the matching blue 'Fn' key which is typically located on the bottom left of the laptop keyboard.
So on laptops for getting a pound sign you will have to do like this.

• Hold Alt + Fn of the laptop keyboard.
• Type number e.g. 156 for a pound symbol. On the laptop it will be 'jio'.
• Then release Alt + Fn, t
