I even use windows 7 on my system and i have also made the connection with the router with the help of a wireless connection. I am not facing any such connection problem as i am to using windows 7 on my system. I think your router firmware is not updated, so you will require to update your routers firmware. After doing that, you can test the system.

Even i am facing the same problem with the windows 7 installed on the system. Initially when i was running XP, then it was running fine, but as i changed my system from XP to Windows 7, then it started showing me the connection problem. I do not understand from where i am getting this problem? So i require some kind of help on this topic.

I will recommend you top try the following things-
1- In the windows 7 you will require to disable the DualServer DHCP/DNS and instead of this function you will need to put there DHCP functions for enabling the router again.
2- You can also try to disabled HomeGroup
I hope that this will solve your issues on windows 7.

Thanks to all for providing the reply. I tried to implement the solution given by Maya Angelou and i was able to fix my issue by trying that solution. I now i am not facing any such problem even on my windows 7 operating system. The solution really has helped me a lot as i was going crazy about the problem. The peoples who are having the same problem can try this out.
