258.96 + Windows 7 64 bit = buggy and annoying.

The driver had some annoying bug that kept making my computer believe that the hardware had somehow been disconnected, kind of like when you take a peripheral off a USB drive (it even sent the sound warning Windows does when disconnecting a peripheral). The NVIDIA Control Panel was also very sluggish as well. The computer is under a Windows 7 64 bit OS and the card is a GTX 260. I finally was too annoyed by this (it would make games like Starcraft II freeze for a second every time it happened) and I went back to 197.75, which seems to be the last stable version for me.

I have this exact same problem. And I am facing this from last two weeks anything above 197.75 causes lockups in Windows 7x64 and, on one occasion, managed to corrupt my MBR so could load windows until I went through the recovery screens. So please if anyone its solution then please replies me.

Yes, they are very buggy for me as well. My main concern is the "Manage 3d-settings" tab that somehow drops the games from its list and won't let me read them. And actually I am looking this issue on most of the forum site but not able to get the perfect answer. In that they have give some of the answer I have tried them but they didn’t fix my issue.

I just want to tell you that when I have started to utilize the generator 256 I am in front of the similar problem. I utilize the 2d graphic acceleration with the TV-card or in Firefox. The systems crash after 1-2 hours. Sometimes when I start wmv movie the freeze starts openly. Sometimes the mouse manages works 15 sec left. Mostly I got freeze image with pixel errors. The rgb canals look like they are displaced.

258.96 drivers work flawless for me. What you have got to remember that there are SO many variations of systems out there and Nvidia cannot try the new drivers out on every single PC. If you have a bug/crash etc post it on the NVIDIA GeForce & ION Driver Feedback Page. Please try to get this fast.
