    Windows Security Permissions

Hi, this sounds like I am trying to do something dodgy but could someone tell me how to delete a folder when I don't have the correct permissions?

I am logged onto our backup server as Administrator but due to a cock-up when using Robocopy, 'Administrator' no longer has full access to the folder, only a couple of accounts beginning with S-15-21.. have full access.

I need to delete this folder to attempt robocopy again. I am on Windows Server 2008. Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Thanks
    John

hi again, sorted it. Forgot I was able to change the owner of the folder and from then on I could give Administrator rights to delete the folder.

    Thanks anyway

Try to run the below code in the cmd or command prompt and see if it helps to solve the issue that you are facing:

    takeown /f C:\windows
    icacls C:\windows /grant administrators:F

The problem that you are facing might be due to the log on account for Software Protection service could be incorrect. So what you need to do to rectify it would be, launch services and then double click on Software Protection Service and then change the log on account to Network Service. After that, just restart the same service and see if the problem is resolved.
