How to Migrate user Profiles from 2003 Terminal Server 32bit to 2008 Terminal Server 64bit

I replace my old Domain Control windows 2003 server to new in 2008 R2. My current functional level is 2003. I am preparing my forest and my domain with adprep. I gild and already the operation using a CD 2008 and everything seems ok. Do I perform the same operation with the adprep sources of my 2008 R2? Is there a difference in the pattern between the 2008 release 1 and release 2? The reason I ask is because I tried to do it using my cd adprep32 R2 gold I returned the following error: "Program too big to fit in memory". Please help.

In general, user profiles that you create for users in Windows 2000, Windows XP or Windows Server 2003, and those you create in Windows Vista or in Windows Server 2008, are mutually incompatible. These profiles are incompatible due to a difference in design of user profile. However, you can use the same data that are available in a roaming user profile, Windows 2000, Windows XP or Windows Server 2003 on Windows Vista or Windows Server 2008.

The USMT tool currently only supports the migration profiles on a computer at a time. Therefore, USMT can not update profiles that are stored in a central location. In addition, USMT can only be run on client workstations. Therefore, you can not use USMT if users log on to a Terminal Server farm. To proceed with the migration of roaming profiles using USMT, follow these steps:
    1. First run the tool on a copy of the profile stored locally.
    2. Then log on the computer that contains the migrated profile in order to update the central copy of the profile using the migrated data.

When you first enable folder redirection in group policy object using Windows Vista or Windows Server 2008, then try using the Folder Redirection feature in Windows 2000, Windows XP or Windows Server 2003, it does not work. The reason for this failure is that Windows 2000, Windows XP and Windows Server 2003 does not recognize the file Fdeploy1.inf. In this case, you must first edit the Group Policy object by using the Windows XP or Windows Server 2003 Management Console Group Policy before changing the subject of Group Policy Using Windows Vista or Windows Server 2008.

Make sure the user's roaming profile is set tab Profile dialog box Properties of the user account. This dialog box appears in the snap Active Directory Users and Computers. User profiles are created in Windows Vista or in Windows Server 2008 are incompatible with those created in Windows 2000, Windows XP or Windows Server 2003. When a user logs on a Windows Vista or Windows Server 2008, a new profile folder called <Username>. V2 is created.

    Check the steps:
    - Install the 2003
    - Make a domain member server
    - Install AD and joined an existing forest

For the migration of server names, all depends on how users access today. If a network drive, just make a login script that disconnected the old drive and back again on a new server
