    windows xp boot error name hal.dll

    hai,

    i have 40 gb hard disk, while booting it says hal.dll missing,
    i tried to format but it stops at 20 % and quiting from that.

    The main reason of missing or corrupt hal.dll error is due to a corrupted hal.dll DLL file obviously. Alternatively it could be due to the hal.dll file might have been moved or deleted its projected position. To get rid of this issue, just go through the following posts:
