Server 2008 n00b question - Please help

Ok I'm trying to setup a new server with windows server 2008R2. I have a domain controller running SBS 2003 w/ domain climate.local On my WS2008R2 I joined it to the domain, but I don't think it is talking correctly with the domain. Whenever I go to anywhere to say select users for remote desktop and you click on the select users, under location my domain does not show up, just the local computer name. Obviously the server is not happy because of this. I can ping the other server no problem. Ideas?

Make sure that the following tasks are completed:

1. If you are installing the first Windows Server 2008 or Windows Server 2008 R2 domain controller in the forest, run the adprep /forestprep command on the server that holds the schema master operations master (also known as flexible single master operations or FSMO) role.

2. If you are installing the first Windows Server 2008 or Windows Server 2008 R2 domain controller in the domain, run the adprep /domainprep /gpprep command on the server that holds the infrastructure operations master role.

3. If you are installing the first read-only domain controller (RODC) in the domain, run the adprep /rodcprep command on any computer in the forest.
