Can't delete file in OSX 10.5.8

I have a Apple Mac system and it has the OSX 10.5.8 operating system install. The problem which i am having is that i cannot delete the files from the OSX 10.5.8 operating system. What can be the reason behind this issue. I have installed the dropbox in the Apple Mac. Is this causing the issue. So hoping for the help from you people as soon as possible.

I think you will not be able to delete the files from the dropbox application because it is the online backup and the sync application. I think there will the remove option available there instead of the delete option. So check for that and use the remove option for deleting the files and folders from Dropbox application.
