I think that the MIDI is not supported by the Windows 7 operating system. So i think you need to check for the latest patch for he midi output which can support midi playback. Also if you want then you can also go on the windows 7 forum site and some official website which can help you to get the latest information on the patch file of the windows 7. I think you need to use their newer version. The audio stack in the VISTA and also in Windows 7 are radically changed now and your system will not appear in the same way. But as i know that they do have outlines and updates for the newer versions. I believe that there is no any other program called Sonar that has the similar updates but again their page can outlines a way to remap your equipments to new sound.

I don't see any of the the midi mapper on the windows 7. I think it is in the control panel. But i am not sure that it might e there. Also i have seen that the Sonar 8.x doesn't see any of the midi mapper device or the Microsoft GS Synthesizer either. But in the FLStudio 8 and I see my usb midi, midi mapper, microsoft GS synthesizer, but seriously i don't know how to configure them in windows 7. Hope for the best.

I think you need to use Vista midi mapper on your computer which has windows 7. So if you want then you can have the vista's driver whcih can help you to support midi output. And also you can have the track on the update for it so that if any of the updates comes then you will know about this. You can aslo post your request on the windows 7 forum and hope for the update that comes soon for midi output.
