How to stop having to enter password twice

I am using a desktop computer installed with windows vista but recently i have upgraded windows vista to windows 7. Now whenever my system returns from the sleep mode it asks me for the password. But i do not know why i have to enter the password twice in windows 7. First time it accepts the password and then it asks for it again. please help me in this matter.

Sometimes this is caused due to a third party application and you need to uninstall it so can you recollect the last software which you installed on your desktop if you can then removing that particular software from the system will definitely remove this password problem from the desktop. Hope this will help you to resolve this issue.

Follow the steps which i have mentioned below in order to get rid of this problem.

1. In the System Configuration Utility dialog box, click Selective Startup on the General tab.
2. Click to clear the Load Startup Items check box.
Note The Use Original Boot.ini check box is unavailable.
3. Click the Services tab.
4. Click to select the Hide All Microsoft Services check box.
5. Click Disable All, and then click OK.
6. When you are prompted, click Restart.

Most probably this is a clear case of corruption of a user account and hence i would request you to create a new user account on your desktop with administrative privileges. Try to login with the newly created account and then allow the system to go to to sleep then awake it and then enter the password to login. I think you will not be required to enter the password twice

You can solve this problem by doing a clean start up since several applications and services start automatically at start. Since the start up program includes processes softwares some performance optimizers and also some updates may have made this happen on your desktop so what i would suggest is to restore your system to a date back where your system was running smoothly without this problem.
