    Hyper-V MMC on Windows XP

    Hello friends,

    I am having computer system with Windows XP operating system. I need your help to sort out my confusion related to the MMC. I am not getting what is MMC for Managing Hyper-V over the Windows XP operating system. I don't have any idea if there any client exists for to remotely manage Hyper-V which is from the windows XP terminal. IF you have any suggestion over this issue, then please let me know that. I am waiting for your reply.

    The Hyper-V Manager MMC snap-in provides management access to servers that are running Hyper-V. You can use this remote connection tool to establish an interactive session on a virtual machine host. The Hyper-V Manager MMC snap-in is located under Administrative Tools. You can use this to To determine what version of the Hyper-V management tools.

    Microsoft doesn't provides client for management of Hyper-V from windows XP operating system. Suppose if If you have to control the Hyper-V from windows XP, for that you will need to create a Windows 7 virtual machine along with RSAT must installed and then try to run the virtual machine from windows XP. I hope you have now understood this concept.

    You need to first enable RSAT for to manage Hyper-V MMC, see following procedure for the same:
    • First you need open the Remote Server Administration Tools.
    • Then select 'Role Administration Tools' options.
    • Then you need to click over Hyper-V Tools.
    • Next step is to run HVRemote tool over your computer as well as over Hyper-V server.

    In the way to mange the Hyper-V MMC on Windows XP operating system, you will need to use the 'Remote Server Administration Tools'.
