The copy can not work because you are also restoring the fault. What exact time gives you a blue screen? So I would like to suggest you to take the Backup and Recovery for Windows Server 2008. Try running on your XP to see if you see. If you do not appear in 2008, it is because it is not necessary. Also try to test out the Backup tool 2008, a full system backup. vhd remove a volume where the deposit. Create a new virtual machine with a new hard drive.

Shadow Copies of Shared Folders is available in all editions of Windows Server 2008 (Both 32-bit and 64-bit versions). However, the Shadow Copies of Shared Folders is not available user interface for the Server Core installation option of Windows Server 2008. If you plan to defragment the source volume on Which Shadow Copies of Shared Folders is enabled, we recommend That You Set the cluster allocation unit size to be 16 KB or larger Initially When you format the source volume. If you do not, the number of Changes Caused by defragmentation dog cause previous versions of files to be deleted.

By the way, according to the description, we find it seems to be system crash issue and we need to analyze the crash dump file to narrow down the root cause of the issue. The Windows Server Backup feature in Windows Server 2008 Consists of an MMC snap-in and command-line tools That Provide a complete solution for your day-to-day backup and recovery needs. You Can use four wizards to guide you-through running backups and recoveries. Can you use Windows Server Backup to back up to full server (all volumes), selected volumes, or the system state. You Can recover volumes, folders, files, Certain Applications, and the system state. And, in case of disasters like hard disk failure, You Can Perform a system recovery server by using a full backup and the Windows Recovery Environment-this will restore your complete system onto the new hard disk.
