Windows XP won't boot

My Windows XP Professional SP3 has stopped booting. Everytime I turn it on, I get the message:
Windows could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt
\WINDOWS\system32\config\SYSTEM

You can attempt to repair this file by starting Windows Setup using the original setup CD-ROM.
Select 'r' at the first screen to start repair.

The operating system on your computer has got corrupt due to which you are getting this error. To solve this error, you will have to insert the installation disk of Windows Xp and then try to repair the Windows installation. If the repair does not work, then you will have to perform a full reinstall of operating system.

Thank you. I'm taking it into the shop I brought it from to get them to repair the system.
