You need to download and compile the kernel. Download the appropriate version of the kernel patch, extract the patch package on the system core patch. The core patch, download decompression, got a file: xfs-1.1-2.4.18-all.patch file. To repair the core are as follows:

Will be downloaded XFSProgs tool to extract, install, mkfs.xfs automatically installed in the / sbin directory.

To make the system use the other partition XFS file system, there are step is to migrate file system. Recommended to migrate the file system, the first data on the disk, file back up in order to avoid irreparable losses during conversion between the file system, it is best able to perform a full backup the entire system. There are many ways this step of the migration method. You can follow their own customary way to accomplish. Check and reply.

How to create XFS file system in linux

If you want a pure xfs system (the system for all file systems are used XFS file system), then had to be the root file system is also formatted as xfs file system. This is actually more complicated step. Because the root file system can not be umount, therefore, you must first create a partition, its file system as ext2 file system, then the current root partition all files and directories, faithfully copied to this one partition, and then change the / etc / fstab file, replacing the original root partition. All the best.
