Problem in installing Windows 7 64Bit on desktop having Asus M4A785-M motherboard

I am having the desktop computer system which is currently having the Windows XP operating system. This desktop has the Asus M4A785-M motherboard and i want to upgrade the operating system to the Windows 7 64Bit version from Windows XP. But the issue is that there is problem in installing Windows 7 64Bit on desktop having Asus M4A785-M motherboard. I am here to get the solution of this issue.

First of all check that this Asus M4A785-M motherboard has the support for the Windows 7 operating system. You can check this from the website of the ASUS or from the user guide of this motherboard. If this motherboard supports the Windows 7 operating system then you can easily install the Windows 7 operating system. But for installing the Windows 7 64Bit version the processor of the computer should have the x64 support.

You have not mentioned in your query that which processor you are using in your desktop computer system. So first of all check that the processor of the desktop has the x64 support or not. If it has the x64 support then only you can install the 64Bit Windows 7 operating system otherwise you will have to install 32 bit Windows 7 operating system.

I have checked the Asus M4A785-M motherboard on the ASUS website and found that this motherboard does not supports the Windows 7 operating system. So you can not install the Windows 7 operating system in your desktop computer system. This is the normal version. The Asus M4A785-M Pro version motherboard supports the Windows 7 operating system. So i will advice you to upgrade to the Windows Vista operating system.

I have the ASUS M4A785-M mb and run windows 7 pro 64 bit and a
phenom IIX3 processo with no problems, its a nice little setup.
