What is new in Linux Mint

    Hi,
I want to add a a Linux based OS next to windows. This is because of virus issue where if my PC crashes then I can at least try back my best to get data and restoration. Even after adding up several security options Windows still infects. For that a Linux based software is best. I heard about the new Linux Mint distribution which is available in the market. As it is open source tool what is new in this.

Re: What is new in Linux Mint

Linux Mint is an operating system computer designed to run on most systems modern, including conventional PCs in 32-bit (x86) and 64-bit (x64). Linux Mint can be seen as the alter ego of Microsoft Windows, Apple Mac OS, and free OS BSD. Linux Mint is also designed to operate in conjunction with other operating systems (including those cited above), and can automatically set up a system boot mode dual boot or multi-boot during its installation (allows the user to choose at each boot which operating system it wants to start).

The purpose of Linux Mint is to provide an operating system for desktop users at home and companies can use for free and that is as effective, easy to use and as elegant is possible. If you have less than 4 GB of RAM (memory), and even if your processor is 64 bit, you should take the main edition. The 64-bit edition provides no performance gain with less than 4 GB RAM, and the main edition is known to be more stable (X86-64 is fairly recent and most programs run better on a 32-bit processor that works in 64-bit or not).

You can download the operating system Linux Mint free. It is generally available as an ISO file (approximately) 700 MB, you will then burn to a CD. This live CD then bootable (ie you can boot from it) and provides a complete operating system, Functionally, you can try without affecting your PC. In simple terms, when putting Linux Mint on a CD that you insert the CD into your drive, you can try without installing it, while leaving your current system intact.

It will be much easier for you if you start the setup by using a ISO CD file. If will show you the step by step procedure to deal with the setup and installation. If offers you to install Linux and Windows next to each if you prefer to stay on a dual boot PC. Linux Mint is really a nice software which gives you all functions of a OS required as compare to others.

Linux Mint is the operating system that has carved out a niche for itself. It is among the best one from Linux, which provides a better user interface as compared to the others. There are somethings that are better to experience than to know it, just give it a try and see how it works for you.
