Hello,
I'm new to mac operating system, just have installed the Mac OS X Leopard. I want to change system language but i can't find the option to change system language, i'm core windows user, so please help me this first time. Thanks.
To demonstrate its procedure, I will change my system language from English to Simplified Chinese.
- Click on “Apple Logo“, and then click on System Preferences
- In System Preferences -> International icon.
- All I have to do is to change the language order by dragging the Simplified Chinese on top of English.'
- Select Finder and click on the Relaunch button
- Click on the Relaunch button again.
- Now you should see the changes
In Mac OSX, to change the system language and related applications, simply click on the icon "apple"In the top left of your screen, then go to"System Preferences. Finally click on the icon "International"(Or the equivalent in your language).
You'll get a list of countries that are ranked in order of preference. Just leave the mouse button on the language you want and drag that language at the top of the list.
You can set many more languages when you click on the Edit List button in the International settings, but remember not all of them can make changes to the system language, I think Mac OS X only carry mainstream languages.
If the language files are installed, simply drag the desired language at the top of the list of "Languages" tab panel "International" System Preferences. It should probably open a new session or restart the computer for the changes are taken into account.
Languages are installed when you install or system. If you did not update since the installation, you can insert CD1 of Mac OS X, choose to update your system and uncheck the non required elements (except the language you want to add and French or what). There is certainly a CD for each language, and indeed, other languages are not installed immediately, I think.
