To solve your problem, I sincerely suggest you check your computer for spyware and adware first, because they can drastically slowdown your computer. And then, you shuld keep your registry error- free, due to the fact that registry is one of the key component in the computing. Hope my tips can solve your problem. Thanks.

I have this same problem and though it was malware, so I downloaded Ultimate Boot CD and wrote all zeros to the entire drive - so there is nothing on the drive. I still get the error.

Solution! I noticed a small scratch on the disk. Some DVD/CD drives will read through scratches better than others, so I tried a USB DVD drive, and it worked perfectly! If you do not have a USB DVD/CD drive, try any you have available, or use a Disk DR. to resurface the disk.

idea Re: How to fix Error 0x2001100200001005

When doing a full factory operating system recovery, I have noticed that if you save all of the files that you can first, Then run kill disk free software, then use a partion software like partition magic found on hirens boot cd making only 1 partition on the hardrive by eliminating hidden recovery partion , Then running the recovery dvds over and over do not stop trying, That it works. I have tried this on a gateway,hp,compaq and it has always worked, most of the time the first or second attempt of the recovery dvd run. You must make the hardrive only 1 partition or the recovery disks will read the old recovery partition and stop the recovery process. Make sure your disk are very clean also and sometimes the dvd/cd player needs to be cleaned with cd/ dvd player cleaning disk can be purchased at walmart, meijer or on line pretty cheap and usefull cleaning tool can be used on all dvd/cd players most of the time.

Hirens boot cd utility can be found all over the internet, Kill disk is free from there website as well!

    I hope this helps someone!
Just be patient it can be a process!
