Windows fails to start, Error 0xc000035a

    Hi,

I tried to install Windows 7 in 64 bits on a virtual disk (virtual pc 2007) but it gives me this message:

Windows failed to start. A recent harddware or software change might be the couse. To fix the problem:
    1. Insert youe Windows installation disc and restart your computer.
    2. Choose your language settings, and then click "Next."
    3 Click "Repair your computer."

If you do not have this disk, contact your system administrator or computer manufacturer for assistance.

    file:\windows\system32\boot\winload.exe

    Status: 0xc000035a

Info: Attempting to load a 64-bit application, however this CPU is not compatible with 64-bit mode.

To solve Error 0xc000035a, don't start installation of windows 7 from windows vista or from the usb drive. Boot from an installation boot disk of Windows 7, choose the option of clean install. (Version Upgrade, that the first in the list must be inactive, but you never know ...). In the window select the partition installation of Windows 7 can choose the clean section. Do not even have to worry about boot partition, it is defined in the BIOS as disk (0) partition (1). Do not make the partition as Windows 7 active. After installing a partition with Windows 7 will be defined as the first and have the letter C. The fact is that the installer will make the hidden partition with Vista. Now you will see a partition with Windows 7 from Vista, but will not see a partition with Windows Vista from Windows 7. This is the default. Perhaps you can make smarter.

It seems to be VirtualPC does not support 64-bit guest operating systems. Exactly how does not support Virtual Server 2005. You can try to include in the BIOS virtualization technology. I do not remember it from AMD. At Intel is Intel VT and VT-D. Plus still need memory protection. At Intel, this technology is called Intel XD. Hyper-V, the role, going in the 64-bit Windows Server 2008 or in any part of Windows Server 2008 R2, just supports 64-bit operating systems. If the processor and chipset supports these technologies and their integration in the BIOS is not implemented.

If you have a bootable USB stick that you care than in the bios first boot removable state.

    1. On your usb you need to copy the file mv61xx.sys.
    2. If you boot from the USB can you give this command if I remember correctly.
    3. copy X:\mv61xx.sys C:\WINDOWS\system32
    4. Note the X is your drive letter.
    5. c:\
    6. del c:\windows\system32\mv61xx.sys

What I have read and that was the solution, you get hd's go and start your PC you will get an error that no drives, then connect the HD's back and start again.

Install Windows 7, the traditional way can be a chore a little heavy if you just want to take a quick look and did not seriously plan to use yet. Change your boot, and then make it difficult when you try to delete it. One solution is to create a separate partition, but what we see below is even simpler: to run Windows 7 on a virtual machine for VirtualBox.

    1. Download Windows 7 : The first step is obvious. Windows 7 To test the first thing you need is Windows 7. To do this, go to the download page of Windows 7.

    2. Select the version : Once on the site, you must select the version you want to download. You can choose from several languages (which includes the Spanish) as well as between the 32 and 64 bits.

    3. Login : You need to log on Microsoft to continue. To do this you only have to enter your user name and password for Hotmail / Live.

    4. Fill in the form : Then a form appears. In it you complete a series of personal information. After that, you get the product key. This key will need it later when you are installing the operating system, so save it.

    5. Download the ISO file : After clicking on Download Now, the download will begin. At first, it will start the download manager at Microsoft. If for some reason does not convince you, you can cancel it, and the download will begin in the traditional way.

    6. Download VirtualBox : Downloading Windows 7 will take a while because the ISO image occupies more than 3 GB. Meanwhile, you can be downloading and installing VirtualBox.

    7. Create a virtual machine : Once everything is ready, it's time to get down to work. First of all, you must create a new virtual machine.
    8. Select Windows 7

VirtualBox will show you step by step wizard. It must choose the new virtual machine is Windows 7 (32 or 64 bits, as appropriate). As for the name, put whatever you want, is not relevant.

    9. Select memory : VirtualBox reserve some memory for your virtual machine once it is operational. The minimum requirements for Windows 7 specify 1 GB of RAM, but unless you can try if your PC does not have much. It is not advisable to set a figure greater than 50% of the memory of your PC.

    10. Create a virtual hard disk : In addition to RAM, VirtualBox need to reserve disk space. Assuming that you have no virtual disk before you want to use, select the option Create new hard disk, and click Next.

    11. Specifies the virtual disk size : After that, the wizard will display several pages that can happen: the default is suitable. Once you have reached the size and location of the virtual disk, you can specify the size of disk reserved. With the 20 GB should be enough default, but you can try other values if you have plenty of free space (or very little).

    12. Configure your virtual machine : Once the list you still need to make some minor adjustments. To do this, select it and press Settings.

    13. Mount the image in Windows 7 : The next step is to mount the image that you downloaded to the virtual machine using it like a DVD. To join, go to paragraph CD / DVD-ROM, make ISO image file, and press the button marked in the picture below.

    14. Select the ISO image : The Virtual Media Manager window appears. Click Add and select the ISO image of Windows 7.

    15. Starts the virtual machine : At this point, you're all set. So you need only start the virtual machine.

    16. Indicates the language : If all went well, it will start installing Windows 7. The first step, as usual, is to select the language.

    17. Custom Installation : Because we have no operating system on our virtual machine, we set the Custom installation option (Advanced).

    18. Enter your username :After that Windows 7 will begin to install without requiring any intervention on our part. The next thing we introduce is the user name and PC.

    19. Enter key : Remember that the product key we talked before? Now is the chance to use it.

    20. That's it. You can test Windows 7 without changing your computer's boot, disk partitioning or any other discomfort. The performance may not be the same as if you install it the traditional way, but at least you can take a look without problems.

Well, there are 2 types of Windows operating system that are based on 32bit and 63bit architecture. So, when you are trying to install the 64bit version of Windows 7 then it is telling that your computer is not compatible with it. It means that either the processor or some other components are not 64bit ready so you will need to install the 32bit version of Windows 7.

Re: Windows fails to start, Error 0xc000035a

Short solution of this problem is to enable virtualization from bios. And if it is not present then try to install some other version. This issue commonly appear in 64bit system setup only. You can find the settings for enabling virtualization in the advance section of bios. But if still this thing does not fix the issue then you are using a faulty dvd. Try to test this on some other working system.
