I think that you are getting this problem due to the problem in your windows files. It may be possible that your search file has been either got corrupted or removed from your computer and that is why it is taking time to find that file and you are getting this sort of error on your computer. So, you need to use the operating system cd in the drive then perform the repair of your problem which will help you to solve your problem.

You need to check for the two solutions as per stated below:
    • You can look for the help which is provided by the Microsoft in the operating system regarding the troubleshooting for search.
    • You need to clear search data by your own from the folder which is having name as ProgramData.

You can fix your problem by running the System File Checker on your Windows xp. For running System File Checker on your windows xp you need to follow the steps below:
    • Click on Start >> Run.
    • Now just type the command as below:
      Code:
          SFC /scannow
    • Done.

It will cause to scan your computer for any type of damaged or corrupted files and also recover the file. But it requires to have the Windows cd in the drive.
